Lifestyle Coaching
Life coaching can help you untangle the confusion, find your strength and use it to set goals that you can achieve.
Do you like where you are and what you do?
More often than not our answer to those questions is 'Yes', but there are a plethora of events and circumstances that can upset this balance. We can sometimes find that we are unhappy or stressed even when there is little wrong in our lives. We constantly make decisions, some without much thinking, like how we drink our coffee in the morning, milk with 2 sugars, other times we weigh up the pros and cons or we let other people influence our decision. Sometimes that can lead to impaired thinking, and it becomes essential to seek the guidance of a third party / trained professional to minimise the impact on oneself, their loves, relatives, work colleagues etc. I can empower you to find the strength you have within you to overcome the challenges of everyday life.
Balancing Family
By looking at this website you have already made a decision to do something about your circumstances. Congratulations. It's never easy to admit that we need help, as it strength to seek support. We automatically find ourselves preferring to remain in our comfort zone when faced with adversity. You need to choose a mentor or coach, who you can trust and the respect is mutual. I can help reestablish effective communication channels between close and distant relations regardless of past events, to become comfortable in each others company, foster respect, mutual agreement and overall positive outcomes. Emma Thompson has a very fitting regarding the importance of active communication, as is evidenced below.
"Any problem, big or small, within a family, always seems to start with bad communication. someone isn't listening."
Emma Thompson
Family sessions can be held if needed to promote a collaborative environment conducive to personal and familial development.

Mindfulness and Inner Balance
Mindfulness is a word that can take many forms. Fundamentally, it is being aware of what is happening without judging it. By having positive thoughts and feeling grateful, we start to be more appreciative of ourselves, which results in a calming effect on our hectic lives.
Our lives have become so full of things to do that we often forget to leave time for ourselves. Managing a busy work schedule, driving the children around after school and running a household, or looking after loved ones, can leave little time to stop and smell the roses. By allowing ourselves a few moments to reflect, we can get in tune with our senses, we start to focus on our breathing, reducing our heart rate and achieving a state of relaxation. All these contribute to being content with yourself and your surrounding, and, in turn, you live in the moment and feel more balanced and mindful. Once you have achieved this balance, we find ourselves being more tolerant, and are less affected by stress, fear, anxiety and aggression. Without these barriers, we can find ourselves improving our family lifestyle balance by being more productive, engaged and cooperative. So ask yourself, how much time have you spent unwinding recently?
When attaining mindfulness, we become aware of our behaviours, learned or inherited. We find ourselves doing what we've observed, many times without even noticing, which can carry both positive and negative repercussions. If we feel that family life balance has been thrown out, we may choose to reevaluate the severity of our negative learned behaviours, and how they pale in comparison to our positive behaviours. I can help you recognise the extent of these behaviours and ways of thinking, and can offer suggestions as to confront them. Once these behaviours, thoughts and feelings are in balance, you will find yourself more mindful and embrace a holistic approach to your lifestyle.
Whenever I think of mindfulness, I often relate to the following quotes.
"Learn to accept the way you are, because you are unique, there is only one of you on this earth. Learn to value what you do, who you are and what you've achieved in life."
Bea Kraessig
"The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness."
Abraham Maslow.
It can be difficult to differentiate between the rigors of living and when your family life balance has become destabilised. A quick and easy way to get an idea would be to ask yourself these questions.
1. What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?
2. Is it your partner, the children, your parents or extended family, pets...?
3. Am I still satisfied with who I am?
4. Have you noticed a change in your emotions since you first started having concerns?
What other factors specific to your lifestyle can you think of that may effect your family life balance? You can have the time of your life and reach your goals by asking the right questions. I can show you the techniques to reframe these questions in a constructive light.
